After 10,000+ service jobs across Singapore, the failure modes repeat themselves. If your aircon isn’t working, it’s almost certainly one of these:

  1. Blocked drainage line — water pools in the tray and drips onto the floor. Simple to clean, common on units older than 2 years.
  2. Weak or dead capacitor — unit hums but the fan doesn’t spin, or starts slowly. A S$100–160 fix if caught early.
  3. Failed fan motor — no airflow at all, or the blower wheel rattles. Replacement brackets vary by brand.
  4. Burnt printed circuit board (PCB) — blinking error lights, unit unresponsive to remote. Most expensive common fault; we match OEM boards where available.
  5. Refrigerant leak or low pressure — unit runs but blows warm air. We refill and pressure-test, but only after confirming there’s no slow leak wasting the new gas.

We diagnose all five within the first 15–20 minutes on-site, then give you a written fixed-price quote before any paid work begins.

The S$50 diagnostic fee is waived if you proceed with the repair. If you decide not to, you pay S$50 and keep the written diagnostic report.

  • We don’t touch units still under manufacturer warranty unless you ask us to — call your dealer first.
  • We don’t “top up refrigerant” without first checking for leaks. Paying twice for the same gas is a complaint we refuse to create.
  • We don’t fit non-OEM PCBs without telling you. If a generic board is cheaper, we’ll show you the trade-off (lifespan, error-code compatibility) and let you choose.

Do you offer a warranty on aircon servicing and repairs?
Every service and repair at Coolbest is covered by a 90-day workmanship warranty. If the same fault returns within 90 days of our visit, we come back and fix it at no charge. The warranty is written on your invoice — no small print, no exclusions for 'normal wear'.

How often should I service my aircon in Singapore?

Commercial spaces should service monthly to quarterly depending on foot traffic. Singapore's humidity grows mould faster than most climates — quarterly is the bare minimum.
Why is my aircon leaking water?
Nine times out of ten it's a blocked drainage pipe — dust and biofilm build up over months of use until water overflows from the tray. Less commonly it's a cracked tray, a frozen evaporator coil (low refrigerant), or poor installation angle. Our diagnostic call identifies which in about 15 minutes.
